How To Get “Reachability” On Any Android Device [ROOT REQUIRED]

Smartphones are getting bigger and bigger every year and many people like big phones as they are great for media consumption as well as gaming.

But while typing or chatting on your smartphone, you will face a variety of problems due to the large screen size.

Therefore, along with the launch of the bigger iPhone (5.5 inch Plus Variant) from Apple, they introduced a new feature called Reachability which would enable users to perform normal tasks of the device single handed, without much problem.

But, most Android Devices don’t have this useful little feature and therefore we are here showing you how to get this on any Android Device by just using a simple script.

Follow The Steps To Get Reachability On Your Android Device :
NOTE: There Is Some Problem With Google Keyboard When Using This Trick.

The Process :

  1. Your device must be rooted.
  2. You must be on Android 4.3 or above.
  3. It is highly recommended that you use an automation app like “Tasker” to bind the shell command to a predefined gesture like swipe from the home button.
  4. Command (Remove the quotes) : wm overscan LEFT,TOP,RIGHT,BOTTOM

Replace LEFT,TOP,RIGHT,BOTTOM with the appropriate values which suits your Android Device. For eg, if you enter 500 in the place of TOP, the contents of the screen will move 500 pixels down.

In order to reset, enter the following command (without quotes) wm overscan reset
